Introducing Dylan Lee
On Wednesday, April 20, my sister, Jenny, went into the hospital to be induced. It was a long day and after about 11 hours of labor, Daryl & Jenny were blessed with their first son & third child. Dylan Lee was born at 11:12 pm, weighing in at 7lb 4 oz and 20 inches long. He is absolutely handsome and perfect! I have a few shots of Dylan the night that he was born but since I was in charge of taking pictures, they are mostly on Jenny's camera but I did capture a few. The rest are of the next evening when all of Dylan's cousins were there to meet him. Alana & Dylan will surely get into trouble in the years to come!

Alana is 6 months old!
Alana turned 6 months old on Tuesday, April 8th! She is getting so big and strong. She began sitting up by herself on April 3rd and really is enjoying it. She usually will go for an hour or so playing in the pack n play. We have learned this is going to be the best way to keep her lick-free from our furry friends. Alana has decided that she will not be rolling over anytime so for us. Shawn still claims that she rolled over twice when I was at the gym but since her Mommy didn't see it, it didn't happen. At Alana's 6 month check up her doctor called her lazy since she has all the muscle strength to roll but simply chooses not to. I believe that she has her parent's attitude that she will do things when she wants and not when others want her to. Also at that doctor appointment, she weighed in at 14.4 lbs (20%) and was 25" inches long (25%). She is babbling away and just last night noticed that she is cutting her first tooth. She is not a fan of eating solids quite yet but slowly is working on cereal, a few veggies and fruits.
Let's take this outside, Mom! I've got this sitting thing down...
Whoa! Maybe not quite yet, give me a few more tries!
The Bumbo is a safer spot for now.

Brewer's Opening Day
Easter 2010
The night before Easter Shawn's family came to our house for dinner. Unfortunately, we did not bring the camera out, so there will be no pictures. His parents brought up the ingredients to make a delicious lemons chicken with avacado and tomato salsa topping along with some red potatoes croquettes. Theyy were delicious. Yummy. Yet two more recipes we can add to our book. The next day Melissa & Alana went to Church where Alana was perfect until the closing prayer. She let the Church know she was ready for a nap. After a really good nap, we ventured down to my parents' house to celebrate Easter with the rest of my family. With the threat of rain on its way, the kids searched high and low for all of the treasures left behind in the yard from the Easter Bunny. They really made out. Alana joined in the fun and was wheeled around in her stroller. Her cousin, Madison, made certain that Alana had her fair share of Easter eggs since she couldn't find them herself quite yet.

Alana at Daycare
After a lot of hard decisions, we decided to put Alana in a new home daycare. We are very thankful for my sister, Jenny, and her family along with a family friend, Linda Horn, for watching Alana. Her new babysitter, Jen, has 2 older children, Connor, 9, and Lauryn, 6. Lauryn just loves to play with Alana. Jen took a few pictures for us of Alana hard at work.

5 Months
Alana turned 5 months on March 8th. She continues to prove that she is such a good little girl. She typically has very little to complain about. She is always "talking" away. Shawn claims that she has finally rolled over from her stomach to her back on Thursday, March 18th, but since Mom didn't see it, it didn't happen. We really haven't been out too much lately so here are a few pictures that we took earlier this month.

SuperBowl 2010
For our annual SuperBowl party, we traveled to Poplar, WI to our friends, Scott & Anna Harms' house. They were very gracious guests and the kids were very thankful that Ethan & Addison were so generous and shared their toys. We were of course also joined by the Kroening family: Kyle, Robin, Miles & Henry (just days old); the Maio family: Matt, Sarah & Genevieve. All the children were very well behaved and the parents had a great time catching up.

Brewers Fan Fest
On January 31, Shawn, Melissa & Alana ventured down to the Midwest Airlines Center to the Milwaukee Brewers Fan Fest. Shawn's mission was to meet his idol, Robin Yount. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity as all the tickets were given out already. We did manage to get a prime spot in the Ryan Braun line. After standing in the same line for over 4 hours for his personalized photo card, Alana & Shawn got a picture with Ryan Braun. The World's Greatest Dad even had Ryan make the card out to Alana, "his newest fan". Overall, we had a great time. Shawn is very excited to teach his little girl all about the Brewers.

An Amberg Weekend
We finally ventured up to my parent's cabin in Amberg, WI on January 22, 2010. We spent Saturday morning at the land ATVing while the dogs were chasing us through the snow. They were exhausted after running over 5 miles. Alana hung back at the cabin with Grandma Kathy. My dad & brother, Jeff, went bear hunting in Canada last fall. Brewer & JoBu were excited to check out their large game score.
